Increasing BAZZ’s onboarding conversion rate by a staggering 336.6%!
Objective
BAZZ is an app that enables users to listen to text messages while driving and respond to them using various methods such as a pre-made message, an audio recording, or by calling back the contact. These actions can be performed using voice commands without ever needing to touch or look at the screen to promote safety. BAZZ approached Moburst to investigate why users weren't utilizing the app correctly and why there is a large disparity between the number of installations and active users.
Tactics
A thorough analysis of the app's UX/UI revealed that many users abandoned the app during the onboarding stage. This was remedied by reducing loading times and substituting text with visuals. Another problem was that users did not use the app in the way BAZZ intended. This problem was tackled by creating a brief, gamified tutorial that illustrates the app's main features and benefits in less than 10 seconds.
Delivery and results
As a result of Moburst's product refinement efforts, there was a sharp increase in the amount of BAZZ users who completed the onboarding and tutorial stages, with conversion rates reaching a staggering 366.6%. Within less than a month, the gap between installs and active users reduced dramatically.
